Capturing the summery sounds and amphitheatre surrounds for Four Winds

In 2017, Four Winds hosted a boutique mini-festival, Summer Sounds, to celebrate traditional and contemporary music in the beautiful surrounds of its stunning site near Bermagui, on the south coast of New South Wales. For one day only, fresh voices representing emerging sounds from our own backyard shared the stage with international visiting artists in an all day celebration of rhythms that coincides with the peak of Bermagui’s high holiday season.

The one-off program, curated by producer Frank Madrid, drew together a variety of music ranging from Surf Rock, Pop, Traditional and Indie Folk, Blues, Tango, Samba, Americana, Reggae, Alternative Country to African rhythms with a sophistication and sensitivity that encapsulates Four Winds’ vision of celebrating music in nature.

I was commissioned to create the festival’s identity that would communicate the unique feeling of the festival site, along with the summery, rhythmic sounds and vibes of the day.

Hallo, nice to sea you here!

I'm Nat,  I’m an Australian artist. I create feel-good art, illustration and lettering. Informed by a background in visual communication and art direction, I work with brands, agencies, publishers and people to communicate stories of connection, empowerment and awe. My practice is a sparkly, colourful ode to the wonder and joy I stumble upon in my universe using hand-drawn and digital techniques. A dream-like language of place, nature, words and people are playfully explored from my studio next to the ocean, amongst the trees on the south-east coast of Australia, on Djiringanj Country. Swimming, reading, plant-hoarding, travelling and wandering with my doggo in the forest keep me feeling human.
